General Lord George Henry Lennox (29 November 1737 – 25 March 1805) was a British Army officer and politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1761 to 1790. Early life. He was the second son of Charles Lennox, 2nd Duke of Richmond, and was a great-grandson of King Charles II of England. He was a brother of the famous Lennox sisters .

This series of paintings depicting the 25th Regiment of Foot during its service in Menorca originally belonged to Lord George Lennox, (1737-1805), who was colonel of the regiment 1762-1805. 9th Lancers. Lord John George Lennox was a captain when he served at Waterloo as ADC to the Duke of Wellington. He was the son of the Duke and Duchess of Richmond so was, of course, at the Duchess’s famous ball in Brussels on the eve of the battle of Quatre Bras.
Biography. Lennox needed no persuasion from his father to go into the army. ‘The beau ideal of a light dragoon, devoted to his regiment’, he served in the Peninsula and was aide-de-camp to Wellington at Waterloo. 1 On his father’s death in 1819, he came in for Chichester on the family interest in the place of his elder brother.
