- About Wellington
Established in 1867, Wellington College is one of New Zealand’s most distinguished high schools for boys. The school buildings reflect the prestigious history of the college, which today provides a very modern and successful learning environment.
Every year, around 260 new pupils join Wellington at a number of different stages. From 2025, our new pupils will be 50% boys and 50% girls. 80% join as boarders and 20% travel to the College each day as day-pupils.
Wellington College, is a state-run boys secondary school in Wellington, New Zealand. It is situated on 12 hectares of green belt land in the suburb of Mount Victoria, in the vicinity of the Basin Reserve and Government House. The school was founded in 1867 through a deed of endowment from Sir George Grey, the then Governor of New Zealand .
Wellington College International is a global network of eight premium-quality co-educational schools across Asia, currently educating 6500 students with a ninth school in Indonesia planned to open in 2024.
