IT was established by the Religious of Christian Education order of nuns in 1889 and moved to the current site when the order purchased the house and grounds in 1927.

  7. The Empress Eugénie's former home is now a private girls' school, called 12 Farnborough Hill. This is an impressive grade-I listed monument, essentially a country château mixing French neo-gothic and English mock Tudor styles. It is not open to the public at any time.
