Laurence Hobgood’s long-awaited duet album with bassist Charlie Haden, When the Heart Dances, will be released on The Naim Label on April 20 in Europe and in the US this summer! A two-record vinyl version will also be released in May.

The inimitable Elling guests on three tracks. In his liner notes, describing the genesis of When The Heart Dances , Hobgood relates how, at a convention of the IAJE (International Association of Jazz Educators), he was chatting with Haden.

Kurt Elling (born November 2, 1967) is an American jazz singer and songwriter. Born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in Rockford, Elling became interested in music through his father, who was Kapellmeister at a Lutheran church. He sang in choirs and played musical instruments.
