The Theresan Military Academy was founded in 1752 and is one of the oldest military academies in the world. In compliance with the timeless, straightforward order issued by Empress Maria Theresia in 1751 "Make them fine officers and righteous men!"
The Theresan Military Academy was founded on 14th December 1751 by Maria Theresia with the order to the first commandant, Field Marshal Leopold Joseph von Daun, "Make them fine officers and righteous men" and is thus the oldest active military academy in the world dedicated entirely to officer training.

30 de out. de 2023 · Em 18 de outubro, no âmbito do Projeto Erasmus+, o Colégio Militar (CM) recebeu a visita de uma comitiva de 20 elementos da Academia Militar Austríaca. A visita ao CM iniciou-se com as boas-vindas e uma breve apresentação do Colégio, seguida de uma apresentação da Academia Austríaca.
