Mahmud II (Ottoman Turkish: محمود ثانى, romanized: Maḥmûd-u s̠ânî, Turkish: II. Mahmud; 20 July 1785 – 1 July 1839) was the sultan of the Ottoman Empire from 1808 until his death in 1839.

Mamude II [1] (em turco otomano: محمود ثاني; romaniz.: Mahmud-ı sānī; 20 de julho de 1785 – 1 de julho de 1839) foi o 30º sultão do Império Otomano de 1808 até o seu falecimento. Filho póstumo do sultão Abdulamide I, nasceu no Palácio de Topkapı, em Constantinopla.

Mahmud was born on July 20, 1785, son of Abdul Hamid I and cousin of the reforming ruler Selim III.
