Will Heggie (a.k.a. “Bill”) was a childhood friend of Robin Guthrie and a founding member of Cocteau Twins. He and Robin had been members of another local Grangemouth, Scotland, band called The Heat.
Cocteau Twins were a Scottish rock band active from 1979 to 1997. They were formed in Grangemouth by Robin Guthrie (guitars, drum machine) and Will Heggie (bass), adding Elizabeth Fraser (vocals) in 1981 and replacing Heggie with multi-instrumentalist Simon Raymonde in 1983.
The band was led by singer Craig Lorentson on lead vocals and also featured Cocteau Twins founding bassist Will Heggie after his departure from that group.
