A Date with Judy is a 1948 American comedy musical film starring Wallace Beery, Jane Powell, and Elizabeth Taylor. [3] [4] Directed by Richard Thorpe, the film was based on the radio series of the same name . The movie was filmed in Technicolor and largely served to showcase the former child star Elizabeth Taylor, age 16 at the time.
Judy Foster (Jane Powell) is a hyperactive teenager who falls for Stephen I. Andrews (Robert Stack), a war veteran and soda jerk. Her best friend Carol Pringle (Elizabeth Taylor) tries to steal him away, while Judy's father (Wallace Beery) learns to dance with Carmen Miranda.
