For more than 200 years, the University has nurtured the national elite, taking a worthy place among the most prestigious higher educational institutions in Ukraine and the world.
Founded in 1816, Lviv Polytechnic National University is Ukraine’s oldest technical university and, with a student population of around 30,000, is also among the country’s largest polytechnic institutions. The university became a centre of scientific and technological research during the nineteenth century.

Lviv Polytechnic National University trains students in 16 research-educational institutes, there students from Ukraine and other countries are enrolled in 64 bachelor programmes (first cycle of higher education) and 124 specialties (second cycle programmes), 123 out of which are master programmes.
