  5. Prince Chirapravati Voradej, the Prince of Nakhon Chaisi was instrumental in reorganising the army in 1905, he later served as Minister of Defence from 1910-1913. The division was formed in 1905 by the command of King Chulalongkorn on the recommendation of the Prince Chirapravati Voradej, the director of operations of the Ministry of Defence.
