Philadelphia, Lady Scrope (née Carey; December 1563 - 1629) was an English aristocrat and courtier. She was a daughter of Henry Carey, 1st Baron Hunsdon and Ann Morgan. Her brother, Robert Carey , was the governor of Prince Charles from 1605 to 1610.
She married Thomas Scrope, 10th Baron Scrope of Bolton in 1584 and was a lady-in-waiting to Queen Elizabeth. On the queen's death she passed her ring to her brother Robert Carey, who rode to Scotland to give it to James VI. Career. The younger Philadelphia Carey was a lady-in-waiting to Princess Elizabeth.

He’s the chap who caught the ring his sister, Philadelphia Scrope, chucked it from the bedroom window having it plucked from Elizabeth I’s finger after her demise in 1603.

In 1584 she married Thomas Scrope (1567-1609), 10th Baron Scrope of Bolton, Mascham and Upsall, who became Member of Parliament for Cumberland and Warden of the English West March.
