Irene Astor, Baroness Astor of Hever (née Irene Violet Freesia Janet Augusta Haig) (7 October 1919 – 12 August 2001) was an English philanthropist and member of the Astor family.
Hever Castle has played host to many important events and celebrations for over 600 years. In 1903 when William Waldorf Astor set about restoring Hever Castle to its former glory, he added the Astor Wing, to accommodate his family and guests, before creating a lake and the spectacular Italian Garden to house his impressive collection of ancient Greek and Roman statuary.

Violet Astor, Baroness Astor of Hever DStJ (née Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound, styled Lady Charles Fitzmaurice between 1909 and 1914 and Lady Charles Mercer Nairne between 1914 and 1918; 28 May 1889 – 3 January 1965), was an English aristocrat.
He is the eldest of the five children of Gavin Astor, 2nd Baron Astor of Hever, and Lady Irene Haig. Astor succeeded to the peerage after his father died from cancer in June 1984. His younger siblings are Bridget, Elizabeth, Sarah, and Philip.
