Welcome to the page of the Medical faculty of the First Moscow State Medical University! The medical faculty is one of the largest faculties of the University and can rightfully claim to be the largest medical faculty in the country. About 8,000 students from all over Russia, from Vladivostok to Kaliningrad, study at the medical faculty.
The university was founded in 1758 as medical faculty of Imperial Moscow University as the first medical school in Russia. [6] . The institution separated from the Moscow State University and became independent in 1930. The university was renamed after Russian physiologist, Ivan Sechenov, in 1955.

The Faculty of Medicine is the oldest and largest faculty in the University. Today it is comprised of 45 chairs, teaching hospitals, and research laboratories. The Faculty of Medicine provides undergraduate education in General Medicine. Graduates receive the degree of Medical Doctor.
