Operation: Mindcrime (also known as Geoff Tate's Operation: Mindcrime) was a progressive metal band that was fronted by the former lead singer of Queensrÿche, Geoff Tate. It is named after Queensrÿche's 1988 album of the same name.
Operation: Mindcrime is the third studio album by American heavy metal band Queensr che. Originally released on May 3, 1988, the album was reissued on May 6, 2003, with two bonus tracks, and again in 2006 as a deluxe box set. Operation: Mindcrime is a concept album and a rock opera.
Combining social consciousness and expertly crafted lyrics with high-energy, melodically complex music, Geoff and his band have become internationally recognized as the thinking man’s rock band. In all, Geoff has recorded 12 studio albums; several live albums and will release his 2nd solo album in 2013.

An almost flawless collection of songs, it went against the grain by proving that a heavy metal band was capable of displaying intelligence in their music.
