The Circus Princess ( Russian: Принцесса цирка, romanized : Printsessa tsirka) is 1982 Soviet musical comedy, a screen version of the operetta of the same name (1926) by Emmerich Kálmán. Die Zirkusprinzessin (The Circus Princess) is an operetta in three acts by Hungarian composer Emmerich Kálmán to a German libretto by Julius Brammer and Alfred Grünwald. It premiered at the Theater an der Wien in Vienna on 26 March 1926 and went on to 344 performances there.
With Natalya Belokhvostikova, Igor Keblusek, Nikolay Trofimov, Yuriy Moroz. When a Prince is ignored by the young widow, Princess Feodora, he plans revenge by paying a masked acrobat, "Mister X", to pretend to be a nobleman, woo, and marry her, so that she will be disgraced in society as "the circus princess".
