Dorothy Dickson (July 25, 1893 – September 25, 1995) was an American-born, London-based theater actress and singer, and a centenarian. [1] Biography and career. Dickson is known mostly for her rendition of the Jerome Kern song "Look for the Silver Lining".
Dorothy Dickson (1893-1995) was a popular actress who introduced "Look for the Silver Lining" in London in 1921. She also appeared in Ziegfield Follies, Stage Door Canteen, and several films, and was the mother of Dorothy Hyson.

Dorothy Dickson was an American-born London theater star, who popularized the song, "Look for the Silver Lining", in Britain when she introduced it in London in 1921 in the Jerome Kern musical "Sally". She appeared on the New York stage and in the Ziegfield Follies before World War II.
