Wolfgang de Hesse-Cassel, (Wolfgang Maurício), (6 de novembro de 1896 - 12 de julho de 1989) foi o herdeiro designado na monarquia finlandesa (com uma pretensão semelhante à Estónia) e, como tal, portador do título príncipe-herdeiro da Finlândia oficialmente até ao dia 14 de dezembro de 1918.

From the late 16th century, it was generally divided into several branches, the most important of which were those of Hesse-Kassel (or Hesse-Cassel) and Hesse-Darmstadt. In the early 19th century, the Landgrave of Hesse-Kassel was elevated to Elector of Hesse (1803), while the Landgrave of Hesse-Darmstadt became the Grand Duke of Hesse (1806), later the Grand Duke of Hesse and by Rhine.
Male family members were arrested, including Philipp’s twin brother, Wolfgang von Hessen, who was head of the family in Philipp’s absence. In the hands of American forces, the castle became an officer’s club after the war ended in May.
