Imperial Moscow University was one of the oldest universities of the Russian Empire, established in 1755. It was the first of the twelve imperial universities of the Russian Empire. Its legacy is continued as Lomonosov Moscow State University, which occupies some of its original buildings.
The Department co-operates with Russian Association of International Law (Moscow), Moscow Regional Delegation of IRCC, offices of the United Nations, has contacts with the University of Potsdam, the South-West University “Neofit Rilski” in Blagoevgrad.

Moscow State University (MSU) [a] is a public research university in Moscow, Russia. [2] The university includes 15 research institutes, 43 faculties, more than 300 departments, and six branches (including five foreign ones in the Commonwealth of Independent States countries).
In 1835, a new Charter of the Imperial Universities of Russia was approved. It provided for the establishment of the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of History and Philology, and the Faculties of Physics and Mathematics, which were merged into the Faculty of Philosophy as the 1st and 2nd Departments, respectively.
