Filmado em 1964 pelo aclamado diretor Satyajit Ray (1921-1992), uma história que se passa em Calcutá – Índia, no final do século XIX e foi adaptado da obra de “Nastanirh” escrita por Rabindranath Tagore. “Charulata” ganhou o Urso de Prata de Melhor diretor e o prêmio OCIC de edição do Festival de Cinema de Berlim.
