Hector Hodler (1 October 1887, in Geneva – 31 March 1920, in Leysin, Switzerland) was a Swiss Esperantist who had a strong influence on the early Esperanto movement. Hodler was a son of the Swiss painter Ferdinand Hodler, who after a period of poverty became suddenly very well-to-do, and Augustine Dupin.

Originally, the Biblioteko Hector Hodler was the book collection of the Swiss Esperanto Society (Svisa Esperanto-Societo) founded in 1902. Several years later, it was purchased by Hector Hodler of Geneva, the son of well-known Swiss painter Ferdinand Hodler.

Hector Hodler (* 1. Oktober 1887 in Genf ; † 31. März 1920 in Leysin ) war der Sohn des Schweizer Malers Ferdinand Hodler . 1908 gehörte er zu den Gründern des Esperanto-Weltbundes .
Most significant for CED itself is the Hector Hodler Library, one of the world’s largest collections of books and archives about Esperanto and planned languages. Hodler, the Swiss founder of the Universal Esperanto Association (UEA), died at the age of just 33 in 1920, and his widow donated his collection of three to four thousand items to UEA.
