The Maxim Gorky Literature Institute (Russian: Литературный институт им. А. М. Горького) is an institution of higher education in Moscow, Russia. It is located at 25 Tverskoy Boulevard in central Moscow.

On 27 August 1934 it was renamed as the Maxim Gorky Institute of Literature by a decree of the Presidium of CEC USSR. The same decree appointed the first Director of the Institute: Lev Borisovich Kamenev (1883‒1936). He did not hold this position for long as he was arrested on 16 December of the same year and then executed in 1936.
It was founded on 17 September 1932 for the 40th anniversary of Maxim Gorky's literary activity, and is located in the former estate of the Gagarin family in Moscow. The institute is organized into departments, each specializing in a specific region or genre of literature.
