Tracks 1 to 13 originally released as The Soft Machine in 1968. Tracks 14 to 30 originally released as Volume Two in 1969. No info on the re-mastering, but for both albums, there are considerable differences in the Duration of the tracks compared to the original vinyl albums.

The Soft Machine (also titled Volume One as a reissue) is the debut album by the British psychedelic rock band Soft Machine, released in 1968. It is the group's only album to feature Kevin Ayers as a member.
Volume Two is the second LP by The Soft Machine (although it was their debut in home country of the UK), released in 1969. The album combined humour , dada , psychedelia and jazz . In 2000 it was voted number 715 in Colin Larkin 's All Time Top 1000 Albums .

Vol 1 1s easier to grasp than Vol 2 and by Vol.3 the Softs were known to most achieving critical acclaim. Also check out the 2 CD sets of their BBC Recordings for a taste of this exciting era.
