João Ernesto de Saxe-Coburgo-Saalfeld ( 22 de agosto de 1658 - 17 de fevereiro de 1729) foi um duque do estado de Saxe-Coburgo-Saalfeld. Biografia. Era o décimo filho, mas sétimo a chegar à idade adulta do duque Ernesto I de Saxe-Gota e da duquesa Isabel Sofia de Saxe-Altemburgo .

Fundada por Ernesto I, o sexto Duque de Saxe-Coburgo-Saalfeld, é a atual casa reinante da Bélgica através dos descendentes de Leopoldo I. Devido ao sentimento anti-alemão no Reino Unido durante a Primeira Guerra Mundial, Jorge V mudou o nome de seu ramo de Saxe-Coburgo-Gota para Windsor em 1917.
Cristiano Ernesto era o filho mais velho de João Ernesto IV, Duque de Saxe-Coburgo-Saalfeld e da sua primeira esposa, a duquesa Sofia Edviges de Saxe-Merseburgo. Casou-se em Naitschau a 18 de agosto de 1724 com Christiane Fredericka de Koss.
