Flicker (Miles Woodward), their original bassist, left the band in 1988, the same year they released their first single, ‘Suicide Alley.’ Richey Edwards, a guitarist, soon joined the band. They signed to Damaged Goods Records for the ‘New Art Riot’ EP in 1990, then to Heavenly Records in 1991.
