United States. Language. English. Craig's Wife is a 1936 American drama film starring Rosalind Russell as a domineering wife. [1] It was based on the Pulitzer Prize -winning 1925 Broadway play of the same name by George Kelly (the uncle of Grace Kelly ), [2] and directed by Dorothy Arzner.

The 1928 silent version was directed by William C. deMille, Cecil's brother, and starred Irene Rich in the title role. In 1936, Columbia Pictures made a film adaptation with Rosalind Russell as Harriet Craig. [4] The 1950 film Harriet Craig, featuring Joan Crawford, was also based on the play.
