  5. Duke Alexander of Württemberg was the son of another Duke Alexander of Württemberg (1771-1833). His mother was Antoinette of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld (1779-1824). He was a first cousin of Queen Victoria of England. Like his father he worked for the Russian army, and he saw action against the Osman Empire in 1828 and against Poland in 1831.
