Amanieu d'Albret (chamado de Cardeal d'Albret) foi um cardeal católico romano francês. Biografia. Amanieu d'Albret nasceu no Reino da França em ca. 1478, filho de Alan de Albret e Françoise de Blois-Bretagne, condessa de Périgord. [1] Seu irmão mais velho, João III de Navarra se casou com Catarina de Navarra.
Arnaud Amanieu (also Arnold and Amaneus, 4 August 1338–1401) was the Lord of Albret from 1358. Amanieu held lands in Gascony which by the Treaty of Brétigny (1360) were obtained by Edward III of England.
Amanieu d'Albret (1478 – 1520) was a French Roman Catholic cardinal. Amanieu d'Albret was born in the Kingdom of France ca. 1478, the son of Alain I of Albret, and Frances, Countess of Périgord. His older brother Jean married Catherine of Navarre. His uncle Louis d'Albret was also a cardinal.

Members of the House of Albret distinguished themselves during the major local wars of that era. During the 14th century they espoused the English cause for some time, afterwards transferring their support to the side of France. Arnaud Amanieu I, Lord of Albret, helped to take Guienne from the English.
In Albret Family. In this conflict Arnaud-Amanieu d’Albret (d. 1401) fought for some time for the English but finally changed to the French side and was richly rewarded (1368): King Charles V gave him not only his sister-in-law, Marguerite de Bourbon, but also lands and financial compensation.
