  1. Lord George Augusta Hill (9 December 1801 – 6 April 1879) was an Anglo-Irish military officer, politician and landowner. Hill was the posthumous son of the 2nd Marquess of Downshire and his wife Mary, Marchioness of Downshire, granddaughter of the 1st Baron Sandys. Lord George was born three months after his father's death by suicide.

  3. Hill, Lord George. Hill, Lord George (1801–79), landlord, was born 9 December 1801, fifth son of Arthur Hill (qv) 2nd marquess of Downshire, and his wife, Mary, daughter of Col. Martin Sandys (1729–68), brother of the baron of Ombersley. He was born three months after his father's suicide.

Hill had purchased his Gweedore estate in the 1830s. He wished to modernize both farming practices and landholding on the estate but was perceived as a harsh landlord.
