  1. Arthur Scott Burden (August 11, 1879 – June 15, 1921) was an American banker, equestrian, and member of the young set of New York society during the Gilded Age.

  2. On 11 June 1906, Roche married Arthur Scott Burden. Burden was the grandson of industrialist Henry Burden and President of the family business Burden Iron Works . [5] His career, however, was significantly impaired after two horse falls, the second of which seriously aggravated the injuries incurred from the first. [6]

His uncle, Arthur Scott Burden, was the first husband of Cynthia Roche (the daughter of the 3rd Baron Fermoy and Frances Ellen Work, and a sister of the 4th Baron Fermoy, a grandfather of Diana, Princess of Wales). His sister, Adele Burden Lawrence, married the prominent writer Louis Stanton Auchincloss.
