  1. Chester Eugene McCracken (September 20, 1946 – February 11, 2022) was an American drummer and recording, mixing and mastering engineer. He was a former member and contributing songwriter of American rock band The Doobie Brothers.

  2. However, both Paul Warren and Frosty left during this tour and new drummer Chet McCracken (who would go on to join the Doobie Brothers) was hired to finish out their 1975 tour. The band then recorded Midnight Lady (minus Katona and McCracken), which was released in 1976.

  3. Baxter and Hartman were replaced by John McFee and Chet McCracken, respectively, while Cornelius Bumpus joined on saxophone and keyboards. After recording One Step Closer in 1980, Porter was replaced by Willie Weeks, and backup percussionist Bobby LaKind became an official band member.
