Ludwig Wilhelm (21 June 1831 – 6 November 1920) was a Duke in Bavaria and official head of the ducal branch of the House of Wittelsbach. [1] [2] Biography. Ludwig Wilhelm (21 June 1831 – 6 November 1920) was a Duke in Bavaria and a member of the ducal branch of the House of Wittelsbach.
On March 18, 1965, Max was adopted by his great-uncle Duke Ludwig Wilhelm in Bavaria. Since that time he has used the title "Duke in Bavaria" while also retaining all his other titles. On January 24, 1967, in Munich, Max married Countess Elizabeth Douglas, daughter of Count Carl Ludwig Douglas and of his wife, Ottara Haas-Heye.
