Jonathan Edwards College (informally JE) is a residential college at Yale University. It is named for theologian and minister Jonathan Edwards, a 1720 graduate of Yale College. Biography. Early life. Jonathan Edwards was born on October 5, 1703, the fifth of 11 children and only son of Timothy Edwards (1668–1759), a minister at East Windsor, Connecticut (modern-day South Windsor ), who supplemented his salary by tutoring boys for college.
