Ruth Cleveland (October 3, 1891 – January 7, 1904), popularly known as Baby Ruth or Babe Ruth, was the eldest of five children born to United States President Grover Cleveland and First Lady Frances Cleveland. She is the namesake of the Baby Ruth candy bar.

A woman named Maria Halpin claimed that Grover Cleveland was the father of her son, Oscar, and that he had assaulted and abducted her in 1874. Cleveland admitted paternity but denied assault, and the scandal threatened his presidential campaign in 1884.
Ruth Cleveland was the daughter of President Grover Cleveland and Frances Folsom Cleveland. She died of diphtheria at age 12 and was known as Baby Ruth while living in the White House.
