Adventure Island is a 1947 American South Seas action/adventure film shot in Cinecolor and directed by Sam Newfield (using the pseudonym Peter Stewart) for Paramount Pictures' Pine-Thomas Productions. This marked one of the few times in which Newfield worked for a major studio. The film stars Rory Calhoun and Rhonda Fleming.

Brief Synopsis. Rory Calhoun, Paul Kelly and John Abbot are beachcombers/semi-derelicts on an unnamed but well-policed tropical island. Kelly, a sea captain in disgrace, is ordered to pilot a ship full of champaigne to Sydney, that has been lying in the harbor since its captain and most of the crew died of plague.
Starring Rory Calhoun, Rhonda Fleming, Paul Kelly and John Abbott. Adapted from the novel of the same name by Robert Louis Stevenson and Lloyd Osbourne, which was published in 1894, the story concerns a trio of sailors and a woman (Rhonda Fleming) who roam an island dominated by a fatal tyrant.
