Ferdinand Otto Wilhelm Henning von Westphalen (April 23, 1799 - July 2, 1876) German politician and the Interior Minister of Prussia in the reaction era 1850–1858. Life. Westphalen was born in Lubeck. He is the son of Ludwig von Westphalen and his first wife Elisabeth von Veltheim.
Ferdinand Otto Wilhelm Henning von Westphalen (* 23. April 1799 in Lübeck; † 2. Juli 1876 in Berlin) war ein deutscher Politiker und preußischer Innenminister in der Reaktionsära 1850–1858.
Westphalen ist der Name eines alten ostwestfälischen Adelsgeschlechts. Die Herren von Westphalen erschienen erstmals in der Mitte des 13. Jahrhunderts und gehörten zum Uradel in den ursprünglich engerschen Landschaften. Zweige der Familie bestehen bis heute.

Another brother, Ferdinand Otto Wilhelm Henning von Westphalen, was the conservative Interior Minister of Prussia, 1850–58. Although he was one of the leading conservative forces in 19th century Prussia, Ferdinand would remain on amiable terms with Karl and Jenny Marx.
Ferdinand von Westphalen, Jenny's older half-brother who had climbed past his father in the Prussian civil service and would one day serve as minister of the interior, learned from the Berlin police that Karl was keeping the company of radicals and atheists.
He was the father of Ferdinand von Westphalen, a conservative and reactionary Prussian Minister of the Interior. Death. He died on 3 March 1842 in Trier. References
