Port-Royal Abbey was an abbey in Paris that was a stronghold of Jansenism. The monastery of Port-Royal was founded in 1204 by Mathilde de Garland beside the River Rhodon and remained of minor importance until the end of the fifteenth century having declined in repute.
L’abbaye de Port-Royal de Paris a été fondée au XVI e siècle pour décongestionner la maison-mère située en l'abbaye de Port-Royal des Champs. Elle a été fermée en 1790 à la suite de l'expulsion des religieuses, ensuite remplacées par les sœurs visitandines .
Port-Royal-des-Champs was an abbey of Cistercian nuns in Magny-les-Hameaux, in the Vallée de Chevreuse southwest of Paris that launched a number of culturally important institutions.
Port-Royal, celebrated abbey of Cistercian nuns that was the centre of Jansenism and of literary activity in 17th-century France. It was founded about 1204 as a Benedictine house by Mathilde de Garlande on a low, marshy site in the valley of Chevreuse, south of Versailles.

Construída na segunda metade do século XVI, a abadia de Port-Royal acontece no 14º distrito de Paris. Originalmente uma mansão privada, o local foi modificado em 1626 para acomodar o convento de Port-Royal e declutter a empresa-mãe de Port-Royal des Champs em Yvelines.
