Clannad is a 2007-2008 anime series based on a visual novel. It follows the story of Tomoya, a high school student who befriends Nagisa, a girl who had to repeat a year, and other characters with their own arcs and conflicts.

Clannad (クラナド, Kuranado?, "CLANNAD") is a Japanese visual novel created by the software company Key. Key released a limited version for the PC on 28 April 2004, and the regular version less than four months later on 8 August 2004.
A história de Clannad gira em torno de Tomoya Okazaki, um estudante do terceiro ano do ensino médio que não gosta sua vida. A mãe de Tomoya, Atsuko, morreu quando Tomoya era pequeno, deixando seu pai, Naoyuki, para cuidá-lo.
