Al Rex. Actor: Don't Knock the Rock. Al Rex became the bass player for Bill Haley and the Saddlemen in 1949, and was also a featured vocalist and comedian with the group. Soon after recording "Rocket 88" with the band in 1951, Rex quit to pursue a solo career.
