Goths is the sixteenth studio album by the Mountain Goats, released on May 19, 2017, on Merge Records. The band has stated that Goths was inspired by an adolescence listening to The Cure, Bauhaus, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and Joy Division, as well as hearing songs on the radio station KROQ-FM.

Favorite track: Rain in Soho. Kamani Goths is an excellent album introduced to me by a friend. All of the songs are great, although my favorites would be the first two, especially Andrew Eldritch Is Moving Back to Leeds (which sort of reminds me of my hometown). Thank you for this excellent album.
by the Mountain Goats. fnord The Mountain Goats (well, John Darnielle) recorded one song I truly love: Golden Boy. I picked up an early Goats album & while it was good it didn't really move me. This album, however, is probably the best thing the band has yet done.
