This album not only defined the “ambient” music genre − so named by Eno himself − but also redefined musical composition by treating sound as a matter of design.
An very clever idea to create this noninvasive music that is also interesting, I think I will try it the next time I'm on an airport. There are so many textures but I believe it works better with the attention coming and going. The canceling noise headphones made the experience too introspective.
