Há 2 dias · Christian IX of Denmark (April 8, 1818 – January 29, 1906) ruled Denmark from 1863 to 1906. Known as the " father-in-law of Europe ", [1] he and his wife, Louise of Hesse-Kassel (September 7, 1817 – September 29, 1898), became the ancestors of many members of European royalty.

The first Frederik was born in 1471 as son of King Christian I and his wife Dorothea von Brandenburg. He became Co-Duke of Schleswig and Holstein, together with his elder brother Hans, who died in 1513.
