These are incredible accomplishments. But what a feather in his cap that he also helped discover and publish the poetry of Emily Dickinson .

Há 3 dias · There are several extant versions of this poem, each with minor changes in the language, and in 1877 she included one version in a letter to her mentor, Thomas Wentworth Higginson and a slightly different version in a letter to her friend Elizabeth Holland. NOTE: In the versions shown below, I added the CAPS.
Há 3 dias · After her death in 1886, hundreds of Dickinson’s manuscripts were discovered by family members, resulting in several posthumous editions that brought increasing attention to her work. Mabel Loomis Todd and Thomas Wentworth Higginson brought out the first edition of the Poems of Emily Dickinson in 1890.
