Há 6 dias · Unlike the solid masonry dams built for the Howden and Derwent reservoirs, Ladybower Dam is a clay-cored earth embankment. Two villages were engulfed when Ladybower Reservoir was filled, Derwent and Ashopton, and their remains can still be seen when water levels are low.

17 de set. de 2024 · The walk traverses the Ladybower dam before ascending a particularly steep hill for around 1 km (0.6 mi), leading you to the summit of Win Hill, where you can enjoy breathtaking 360-degree views. The walk then gently meanders downhill, through the forest, and back over the dam, returning you to the car park shortly.
