The location puts it in the Highland Region, and Oban is said to define a style within the style, “West Highland,” bridging the smokiness of Islay and the light sweetness of the Highlands proper.

Während diese schlangenförmigen Rohre in anderen Destillerien zur Kühlung eingesetzt werden und für einen eher schweren Whisky-Charakter mit teilweise fleischigen Aromen sorgen, betreibt Oban seine Worm Tubs beheizt (40-50 Grad Celsius).
