Behind these walls, Bowie recorded some of his most iconic albums and singles. “Ziggy Stardust,” “Hunky Dory” and “Space Oddity” all came into being at the studios here. [Also a small note to mention that Elton John, Queen, and The Beatles also recorded here!]

Having famously disbanded the Spiders From Mars live on stage at Hammersmith Odeon the previous July, Bowie’s first challenge was to fill the guitar genius-shaped hole left in his musical life by the departure of Mick Ronson .
