Há 3 dias · How to Use Aperture Priority. On pretty much all modern cameras, aperture priority mode is found on the “A” position on your mode dial. On Canon cameras, the label is usually “Av mode” – same thing. You don’t need to do anything special to activate aperture priority. Just slide the dial to the right position, focus, and take the shot!

Ideally, the brighter your lens can go, the better, and as the very minimum you want your lens to open up to at least f/2.8. If producing beautiful bokeh in shallow depth of field is high on your priority list, also look at the aperture blade construction.
Há 4 dias · To me, waterfall photography requires even more precise exposure measurements. This is to accommodate all textures while keeping the power of the waterfall. A very fast shot like 1/100 of a second makes it all too busy. But up to 1/4 or 1/8 makes it so much better than a 10 second exposure. Shutter speed is 1/10 sec.
Há 2 dias · Rotate the command dial counter-clockwise to increase the aperture setting (ie. a larger number=smaller aperture). That corresponds to making the size of the opening smaller to let less light in. If you’re shooting with Auto ISO turned on, both the ISO and shutter speed will automatically adjust to compensate.

The maximum aperture of a lens should always be in its name. So if its a "70-200mm F2.8" you can have that F2.8 at any zoom level, if its a "18-55mm F3.5-F5.6" then you can have F3.5 at 18mm, while at 55mm the best you will get is F5.6. They will always have the widest options available at the lowest zoom level.
