Li Xiannian (李先念) ( 23 de junho de 1909 - 21 de junho de 1992) foi Presidente da República Popular da China entre 1983 e 1988. Foi presidente da Conferência Consultiva Política do Povo Chinês até sua morte, em 1992.
Li Xiannian (pronounced [lì ɕjɛ́nnjɛ̂n]; 23 June 1909 – 21 June 1992) was a Chinese Communist military and political leader, president of the People's Republic of China from 1983 to 1988 under paramount leader Deng Xiaoping and then chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference from 1988 until his death.

Li Xiannian was a Chinese politician, one of the eight “revolutionary elders” and a leftist hard-liner who opposed economic reform. Li, a member of the Chinese Communist Party by 1927, was a veteran of the Long March (1934–35), having served as army captain and political commissar.

However, presidents Li Xiannian (1983–1988) and Yang Shangkun (1988–1993) were not simple figureheads, but actually significant players in the highest leadership. They derived most of their power from being amongst the Eight Elders , rather than the office of president.
