Há 3 dias · This faction arose out of the split between followers of Julius Martov and Vladimir Lenin in August 1903 at the Party's second conference. Martov's followers were called the Mensheviks (which means minority in Russian); and Lenin's, the Bolsheviks (majority).
In 1917, the Social Democratic Party, headed by Julius Martov, won a landslide (sorry for the incorrect votes btw) and gained the title of russian prime minister.
