  1. 8 de mai. de 2024 · William Montagu, alias de Montacute, 1st Earl of Salisbury, 3rd Baron Montagu, King of Mann (1301 30 January 1344) was an English nobleman and loyal servant of King Edward III. The son of William Montagu, 2nd Baron Montagu, he entered the royal household at an early age and became a close companion of the young Prince Edward.

  6. 22 de mai. de 2024 · At both elections of 1679 the 'popular' candidates, Sir Thomas Mompesson and Alexander Thistlethwayte, were elected unopposed, and they seem to have made some effort in 1680 to get up a petition in the city protesting against the dissolution of Parliament. The Court Party had, however, now rallied in Salisbury.
