-Both men claim to love their respective women (Gertrude and Ophelia), but this is questionable. Claudius claims to love Gertrude, but doesn't show any visible despair when she drinks the poisoned goblet. Conversely, Hamlet professes his love to Ophelia in her grave, but his treatment of her up till then had been aborhant.
